1. Introduction

TimeTag ("TimeTag", "we", "our", or "the Service") is a Discord bot designed to display a user's local time alongside their Discord nickname.

This Privacy Policy explains what information TimeTag collects, how that information is used, and how it is handled when you use the Service.

By using TimeTag, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

TimeTag may collect and store the following information as necessary to provide the Service:

• Discord User ID
• Discord Server (Guild) ID
• Selected timezone
• Base Discord nickname used by TimeTag
• Whether TimeTag is enabled or disabled for a user
• Server-specific timezone overrides
• Server configuration and formatting preferences
• Service plan associated with a server

TimeTag does not require your real name, home address, precise physical location, phone number, or email address to provide its core Discord functionality.

Your selected timezone should not be interpreted as your precise physical location.

3. How We Use Information

The information collected by TimeTag is used to:

• Display local time alongside Discord nicknames
• Restore and manage nicknames
• Remember user timezone preferences
• Apply server-specific TimeTag settings
• Enable and disable TimeTag functionality
• Diagnose errors and maintain reliability
• Prevent abuse and maintain the security of the Service
• Improve TimeTag

We do not sell users' personal information.

4. Error Logging

When an error occurs, TimeTag may process or transmit technical information required to diagnose the issue.

This may include:

• Discord User ID
• Discord Server ID
• Error type and error code
• HTTP status information
• Error messages
• Base nickname or attempted nickname when relevant to the error

Error information may be sent to a private Discord channel or webhook used by TimeTag administrators for troubleshooting and maintenance.

5. Data Retention

When TimeTag is removed from a Discord server, server-related TimeTag data may be retained for up to 30 days. This allows configuration to be restored if TimeTag is added back to the server during that period.

After the retention period expires, the associated server and member records are scheduled for deletion.

When a member leaves a Discord server, TimeTag removes that member's server-specific TimeTag record.

Timezone information that is no longer associated with any active TimeTag server may also be removed during database cleanup.

6. Data Deletion

Users or server administrators may contact the official TimeTag Discord server to request deletion of applicable stored data.

Certain data may already be automatically deleted when a user leaves a server, when TimeTag is removed from a server, or when the applicable retention period expires.

7. Third-Party Services

TimeTag operates through Discord and therefore relies on Discord's services and APIs.

Your use of Discord is separately governed by Discord's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

TimeTag may also use third-party infrastructure or service providers as necessary to host, operate, monitor, or maintain the Service.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information used by TimeTag from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

However, no online service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

TimeTag is intended to be used in accordance with Discord's age requirements and applicable laws.

We do not knowingly collect information from users who are not permitted to use Discord.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as TimeTag develops or as its features and data practices change.

Material changes may be announced through the TimeTag Support Server or other appropriate channels.

The effective date at the top of this policy will be updated when the policy is revised.
